When Passion Calls, Will You Answer?

Let's face it - chasing our dreams and the things we are passionate about sounds great BUT it comes with fear and uncertainty. Have you ever said things like - "it's time to do something about this", or "that is such a great cause, I'm going to get involved", or even "I'm ready for a change", but then find yourself going right back to your routine and the fire fizzles out? Well trust me, you are not alone.
You see, there comes a moment—quiet but unmistakable—when something deep inside us whispers, “This is it. This is what you were made to do.” For some, it’s a slow build. For others, a divine nudge. But almost always, it’s met with a strange cocktail of excitement, fear, and doubt.
That’s been my story.
I was given an incredible opportunity to start my own business—one rooted in freedom, purpose, and impact. On paper, it was everything I had dreamed of. A path that would allow me to chase what I’m most passionate about: helping men—particularly fathers—show up as the best version of themselves at home, at work, and in their personal endeavors.
And yet… I hesitated.
I hesitated out of fear of failure. I hesitated because I wanted the product to be perfect. I hesitated because my mind kept getting tripped up between earthly desires—money, status, validation—and the quiet but persistent voice of what I knew I was being called to do.
But the calling never left.
In fact, it got louder. Through prayer, conversations with my wife, my closest friends, and my pastor, I came to realize something simple but profound: God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.
I’ve built a framework I believe in deeply. It’s called Work-Life Harmony – A Fatherhood Journey. It’s designed to meet fathers where they are—whether they’re thriving or barely keeping it together—and help them build a life of alignment, purpose, and connection.
And yet, I’ve slow-played it. Dipped my toe in the water. Waited for the “right” time.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
1. You Don’t Need to Have it All Figured Out
Chasing your passion doesn’t mean you know every step of the journey. It means you trust that each step will be revealed in time. We’re not called to perfection; we’re called to take action.
2. Fear is Normal—but So is Faith
It’s okay to be afraid. But faith isn’t the absence of fear—it’s moving forward despite it. If the path ahead looks impossible, that might just be confirmation you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. Our fear is often the gatekeeper to our greatest growth.
3. You Can Care Deeply and Make a Living
One of my greatest internal battles has been about money. How can I ask fathers to invest in themselves when I know how real the struggles are? But I’ve come to understand that impact and income are not enemies. When we charge appropriately, we create sustainability—and we give others permission to invest in their own transformation.
4. God’s Timing is Now
Not when the website is perfect. Not when every module is filmed. Now. We don’t need to wait for certainty; we need to move with faith. If God is calling you, He will also equip you—and He will provide.
So, I’m diving in. Fully. Not because I’m fearless. Not because I’ve got it all mapped out. But because I trust the story that’s being written for me.
And maybe this post is your invitation to do the same.
Maybe you’ve been feeling that pull. That idea that won’t let go. That dream you’ve slow-played because of fear, perfectionism, or self-doubt.
Let me encourage you: Preparation meets opportunity in the space where faith takes root.
I’m ready!
Are you?
